It’s been a crazy busy week. I didn’t get much sewing time, but I did get another 1/2 yard out from the never ending sewing room declutter. I may be decluttering that room for the rest of my life because there is So. Much. Stuff.
My Guild had their annual fabric sale yesterday. I didn’t enter the sale area until a lot of people were finished shopping. I didn’t really want to buy fabric, but I did want to support the Guild. First I looked at panels, but there weren’t many left. Then I ...

read moreOctober is here which means we have been in our new house for almost six months. Seems like one would have all the boxes unpacked at this point but nah… there are too many other fun things to do.
For instance, we had my mother in law here for a visit last week. She had not seen the house yet. It was super fun to show her the area. Like me, she is a fan of beach combing so we spent a lovely afternoon wandering at the water’s edge picking up shells ...

My Guild held their annual fabric sale yesterday. I’m gifting a lot of what I bought to someone who reads the blog, so no pictures of that. I’m on the fence about much of the rest, which may end up donated back to the Guild for charity quilts. I know I’m keeping the 5 1/2 yards of muslin, both bleached and unbleached. My new dyes needed some fabric friends to play with.
I also picked up a ruler and some trims. The pattern came from the thrift.
I don’t usually ...

Yesterday my Guild had a huge fabric sale to raise money for charity activities. Way more fabric came home with me than planned.
The small pieces were accidents. The Guild didn’t have access to its normal meeting space, and the lighting in the building we used instead was poor. My sister requested fabrics for a specific project, and some of my choices didn’t go with the other fabrics. I kept those pieces. The purple was my only indulgence piece. I bought it because I liked it. Not shown: several yards of white fabric ...
read moreToday's pics aren't my best work - I'll just start off with that disclaimer. Earlier this week I was on a Zoom call and saw our rural mail lady try to turn around in the neighbor's driveway. She got stuck. Totally distracted from my call, I watched as she kept revving the engine in her little jeep and burning the rubber off her tires trying to get out. My call ended and I threw on a coat and boots. In an effort to get there quicker, I started out across the yard rather than using the driveway ...

I'm pretty sure our delivery people don't like delivering to us. We had an 'incident' where the FedEx driver left a box of fabric out at the end of our 150 ft driveway (where we put our trash, I might add) and for the first time ever, Hubs called in. The local social media site, coincidentally, had a rash of other deliveries that the same thing had happened to. Whether it was everyone being keyboard warriors or thinking there was ...
read moreJust popping in this morning to share with you a bit. This has been a crazy election season and most of us have been holding our breath for days now. Not unexpectedly it looks like we will be holding our breath for a few more days. Regardless of our political leanings, disappointments or satisfaction, we live in an amazing country where we have the opportunity to vote and make our opinions known. Not all of the world enjoys these liberties. (And try not to hold your breath and grit your teeth – it isn’t healthy – relax your shoulders, inhale deeply ...
